Greek Village

On Wednesday, April 21, 2010, from 6:30pm until about 8:30pm there will be a meeting about the Greek Village, presenting the Greek Village Task Force Report. The meeting will be held at NJIT's Faculty Dining Room on the 3rd Floor of the Campus Center.

To attend you must RSVP to me by April 15, 2010. I will compile a list to submit on behalf of our organization.

Press Contact above if you plan on attending the Community Meeting, and send me an e-mail.

NJIT has been given the right to be the sole developer for the Gateway Plan - which includes the Greek Village. A Task force has been set-up, including administrators, faculty, stakeholders, alumni and greeks to work with Jones, Lang, LaSalle and Elkus-Manfredi to chose the best course of action. Brother Thomas Reynolds, 620 has been selected by the Vice-President's Office to represent Greeks and Alpha Sigma Phi.

The proposed Greek Village will compose of roughly 10 houses - larger than the average house size on the row currently - on the lot behind Laurel and Oak Halls. The plan calls for parking for greeks, a common courtyard and new housing. Nothing is yet set in stone on ownership, and the university has made it destinctly clear that they do not want to run the fraternities and sororities that decide to move in.
