Sometimes

Sometimes I walk around, my eyes fille with tears, unsure of whether they're from the wind hitting my eyes, the pain in my heart or the memories buried deep in my head.
Sometimes I sit, unsure of whether I'm watching the world pass me by or if the world is watching me pass it by.
Sometimes I fall to the ground, because there's a hole in my chest where my heart was, and it still hurts when the wind blows through.

Sometimes I close my eyes, unsure whether to not see whats going on infront of me, to forget whats happened behind me, or remember what thoughts just apssed me by.
Sometimes I fear, I dream, I sleep, I cry, I hope, I sleep, I dream, I eat, I walk, I hope, I dream...
Sometimes I hurt and sometimes I smile,
but I promise, I will never die.

I Want to Hear a Poem

I want to hear poems
That tuck you into bed at night
Whisper dreams and contour bird's flight
Poems that drink last sips
From jazz soaked rags
Poems that cause evolutions in bedrooms
Breaking seams from the political scene.

I want to hear poems

With ideas that kiss similes so deeply
they make metaphors jealous

Poems that lyrically masturbate
Leave your ears abate
“Spontingling”
Raw-fingering
Juicy adverbs
And boiling nouns

I want to hear poems
That leave adjectives indescriptive
Lost and far from bold
Poems that flow creamy clauses
Dreamy flaws in
Grammatical uses of
Sexy words
Burning verbs

I want to hear poems
That build towers
That skim the sky
Poems that roar down rivers
Roll down rocks
Run down valleys

Poems that whisper in the trees
And wisp through your hair
Poems that cry dry kosher salt
Poems that season Ramon Noodles in chicken broth

Poems that fizzle and rumble and bubble
Poems that fester and dry up and soar
Poems that remind you of
A raisin in the sun
Yellow trees diverging your run

Poems that make Socrates
Rethink philosophies
And grandma's recipes for
Apple crisp pie

I want to hear poems
That leave me yearning
Leave me wanting
And leave me teeming
For poetry.

NJIT Sweeties

I've dug the spill
Of Sugar Hill
And cast my grins
On her sepia thrill
But where I'm from
The cocoa is sweeter
The rice is right
And I can't deny either

Sugar cane babies
Chocolate treats
Banana shake girlies
Smooth enough to eat
Licorice, cinnamon
Rose pedaled hunnies

Black pepper, chili powder
Coffee and cream mamis

Rich creamy latte
California chardonnay
Though I enjoy it
The pomegranate lipped
Apple bottom girls
The real flavor treats
In the variety of their scents and oils

Sunflower-toed
To autumn tree berries
Honey flavored chicks
These NJIT girls vary

From the Lambda's to the Alpha's
The Gamma's to the Tau's
The rich butter sweetness
Is my only real flaw

Langston, listen careful now,
For if you want to know beauties
Rainbow-sweet thrill
Stroll down our luscious

Delicious, tiny green on the hill
